The Counselling Cottage is open!

After close to two years of hard work, our new counselling cottage is complete!

This massive project would not have been possible without so many community volunteers and donations. We need to say the hugest thank you to EVERYONE who was involved. 

What this means is our counsellors now have extra space to see women in need. This is such a big thing, as we've been working together in a tight space for a long time.

Special thanks needs to go to Myffie James, Women's Centre counsellor and the tireless leader of this project. (Pictured on the right. Britta Hietz, our Centre Coordinator, is on the left). The cottage would never have happened without Myffie's walking the walk all over town to get the support we needed. So, thank you Myffie, from every part of our hearts.

The Cottage was officially opened by Nelson Mayor Rachel Reese on 8 August 2016.
