After 12 years as Centre Coordinator, Carrie Mozena is taking a year's leave of absence from the Nelson Women's Centre. Carrie says, "I love working at the Women's Centre, and I know it is such an important resource for all women in this community. Over the past 12 years, we have achieved so much: we've increased in the quality and range of our services (more social work support, counselling, workshops, women's growth groups); we've fully renovated the Women's Centre building and installed more rooms out back; we have navigated an uncertain funding environment and so far, have come through stronger. Now I'm ready for a new challenge. As Nelson Tasman Housing Trust Director I will be working to expand the provision of quality, energy-efficient social and affordable housing in this region. Housing is fundamental to women's and families' well-being. So my work will continue to focus on helping women and those in need. Thank you to all of you who I've worked closely with for so many years; I hope we will be able to carry on these relationships, just possibly in a different form."
