Having an up-to-date will helps ensure that your loved ones are taken care of. After providing for your whānau and friends, even a small gift to the Nelson Women’s Centre can create a powerful legacy of care and community. Every contribution helps sustain and grow the services that support women to thrive.

Ways You Can Leave a Gift

1. A Percentage of Your Estate -a   flexible option that doesn't need to be updated with inflation or changes in your finances. Even 1% can make a meaningful difference.

2. The Residue of Your Estate - what remains after your loved ones have been provided for can be        gifted to support our work.

3. A Fixed Amount - A specific sum of your choosing, which you can revise over time as circumstances change.

How to Arrange a Gift

We recommend speaking with a trusted legal advisor, or your local Community Law Centre to ensure your wishes are clearly recorded.

Here is an example of suggested wording for your will, which your advisor can tailor:

“I give to Nelson Women’s Centre – Te Whare Āwhina Mō Ngā Wāhine Puawai Incorporated (Charity Registration Number CC25321), howsoever described now or in the future, or its successor:

•  __% of my estate; OR
• the residue of my estate; OR
• the sum of $_______ (a specific amount)

for the purpose of improving the wellbeing of women and gender-diverse people in the Nelson region. I declare that this gift shall be free of all charges, and that the official receipt of Nelson Women’s Centre shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executors.”
