The Nelson Women's Centre is a resource and support centre for all women and children in the Nelson Tasman region.
We offer services such as social worker support, advocacy, information on women's rights, workshops, a library and opshop, and a programme of workshops.
You do not have to be in any sort of crisis to visit us or use our services.
Social workers and counsellors
We are one of the few places in Nelson where women can access very low cost counselling with our team of Counsellors.
Our social workers can help with advocacy, information, support with other organisations, and advice. They will also be your first port of call to get you set up with one of our counsellors.
Contact one of our social workers on 546 8441 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Come in for a cuppa anytime we're open (Mon-Thurs 9am-4pm, Fri 9am-2pm). We have a welcoming kitchen/lounge area, a cozy logburner in the winter, and a sunny deck out the back. Come meet other women or enjoy a safe quiet space on your own.
We have an Op Shop in our back yard. Come find (or donate!) women's and children's clothes and small household goods. All proceeds from the Op Shop go right back into the operation of the Nelson Women's Centre.
We have a "river of books" in the Women's Library in our lounge. Come have a browse, sign out books for a month, bring them back when you're done.
