Your Rights and Responsibilities

As the Centre is a safe place for women to visit, while here, we ask that all visitors observe and adhere to the following.

As someone seeking our help, you have the right to:

  • Be listened to
  • Be treated with respect
  • Feel safe
  • Confidentiality
  • Ask to see anything that is recorded in relation to you personally
  • Stop or leave a session at any time
  • Ask to change social workers or counsellors at any time.

What we ask of you is to:

  • Keep your scheduled appointments
  • Contact us ASAP if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment
  • Try to be up front with us about what is going on for you so we can help you as best we can.

What this means is:

  • Treat others with respect and kindness
  • Not to arrive at the Centre intoxicated or bring any alcohol with you
  • No physical or verbal aggression will be tolerated.

More detailed information regarding your rights and responsibilities, and our complaints process, are displayed in the Social Workers' office.
