Maria Busching Centre Manager

I was born and bred in Germany where I also finished my master's degree in International Business Studies and worked for various organisations . I tested living in France and Italy, but ultimately lost my heart to New Zealand and especially to Nelson.

Since moving to Nelson in 2016, I have worked for a local iwi, managed a multicultural organisation and studied Arts & Design at NMIT.  I love working in the community sector as I can directly contribute to the wellbeing of others while applying my skills.

Rechelle Apondar Finance Administrator

I have worked as a Management Accountant for the oil and gas services industry in the Middle East and as Financial Accountant in a multinational company in the Philippines. My passion to learn and add value to the company has been my driving force to gain certification in Management Accounting (USA) and complete Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting at NMIT. Working for a not-for-profit organisation helps me to meet people from different backgrounds and create a positive impact on the community.

Tara Jackson Centre Administrative Support

I was lucky enough to grow up in Whākatu Nelson and benefit from the diverse community and environment that makes our region what it is. After moving away to study, travel, and work for a time, I ventured back with my small whānau so that my tamariki could also benefit from all that Whākatu Nelson has to offer.
My background in personal development, leadership, and small business ownership resources me with some strong organisation and administration skills to support the efficient and effective running of our centre. I am passionate about creating the oppurtunity for all people to be able to rise to their own potential. I believe that community hubs like the Nelson Women's Centre are at the core of allowing that to happen.
